Minimum educational requirement:
- Minimum of a Level 7 qualification in Childcare
- 2 years experience in a Childcare setting at management/ supervisory level
- Excellent IT Skills and experience in managing Online Platforms
- Excellent communication, decision making and problem solving skills
Key Responsibilities of the position:
- Manage the childcare team in providing a high quality early childhood service that provides a safe and nurturing environment and promotes the holistic needs of each child attending the service
- Ensure the welfare of all children attending the service is of paramount importance and that their development and well-being on every level, is catered for
- He/She will have overall responsibility for the daily management and operation of the service, the staff and the children attending the service, and will report directly to the owner on a weekly basis
- Ensure that the service adheres to the Childcare Pre-school Regulations
- Liaise with Túsla Early Years Inspectorate, DES Inspectors and any outside agencies who may be involved with the service in any form
- Daily management of the service team, including staff direction and organisation, staff motivation and staff facilitation. Supervise and support the team in their roles within the service
- Prioritise health and safety as per childcare regulations and HACCP
- Oversee the planning, implementation and review of curriculum/activities appropriate to the individual and group needs of the children attending the service
This should be done in conjunction with the Montessori classroom leaders, incorporating the principles of Aistear & Síolta
- Participate in classroom teaching and support
- Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss service developments
Identify and implement all staff training programmes/schedules, including staff personal developments in conjunction with HR supervisor
- Liaise with all parents/carers who are the primary carers of the children and ensure they are always welcome in the service and kept up to date on the on-going progress and development of their child
- Handle parent queries/issues and practise good conflict resolution
- Meet with prospective families and carry out viewings of the Montessori
