Job description

Working hours: up to 40 hours per week - Creche opening hours are from 7.45am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks of the year. Shifts vary from week to week.

The successful applicants will be responsible for but not limited to:
- All aspects of the care and education of the children in Bellview Woods Childcare
- Coordinating and implementing indoor and outdoor play activities, arts & crafts with all children
- Positive interactions with the children at all times, not just supervision
- Ensuring the overall safety and well being of the children
- To co-operate with TUSLA Early Years Inspectors and health board inspections
- To be dynamic and with the ability to multi-task with a caring and professional manner
- To come up with new ideas and activities to encourage the children's development
- Maintenance of records relating to feeding, nappy changing, sleep routine, medication administration, accident report forms, observations etc.
- To ensure the provision of a quality service to children and parents
- To liaise with parents/guardians of the children and keep them informed of the children's progress and well being
- Ensuring a good standard of hygiene and the general cleaning duties for the childcare facility
- To work as part of a team and liaise with other team members
- To report all areas of concern to the manager
- Implementing Síolta and Aisteár within the service
- Attending relevant training
- Any other reasonable task assigned to you by management

Qualifications and Requirements:
- All applicants must have minimum QQI / FETAC Level 5 or higher and be eligible to work full time in Ireland
- All other qualifications must be recognized by the DCYA

- The perfect candidate would be hardworking, ambitious, creative and a real team player
- Additional experience and qualifications are highly desirable
- Garda Vetting (and international police clearance if having lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months) will also be required
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- A working knowledge of Aistear & Siolta an advantage
- Ability to work in partnership with parents

- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
- A genuine love and interest for working with children
